Mobel Studio is the workshop of Andrew Mortimer — an engineer-turned-joiner working out of Edinburgh. Every piece is drawn, measured and made to suit one home, one wall, one bay window. Nothing is off-the-shelf.
From full kitchen fits and fitted wardrobes to alcove units, panelling, sash-window refurbishment and hand-built garden gates — we bring the same discipline to a boot-room cupboard as to a floor-to-ceiling library.

A Masters in Electrical & Mechanical Engineering from Edinburgh University meets a lifelong love of woodworking. The result is a workshop that treats joinery as engineering — carefully drawn, accurately cut, and finished by hand.

European oak, walnut, ash, tulipwood and pressure-treated softwoods — sourced with care, considered for each application. Finishes range from hard-wax oils to hand-mixed paints from Farrow & Ball, Little Greene and Paint & Paper Library.

Andrew fitted our new kitchen, including a bespoke Edinburgh press, skirting, window ledge and more. He finished the job to such a high standard and his attention to detail is second to none. Great communication and an absolute delight to work with.
